How To Play Poker?

When it comes to learn the first steps on how to play Poker in the UK, it is necessary to get the grip of some essential Poker basic rules. As it happens in the rest of the world, there are a number of different Poker variations played in the UK , but all of them share the same basic Poker rules.

Usually, in casual games of Poker, the right to deal a hand rotates among the players and is marked by what is called a “dealer” button. In a traditional Poker Room, a house dealer handles the cards for each hand, but the button is rotated clockwise among the players to show a nominal dealer to determine the order of betting.

One or more players are then required to make forced bets, usually in the forms of ante or blind bets. The dealer shuffles the cards, the first player to his right cuts, and then the dealer distributes the appropriate number of cards to the players. Cards may be dealt either face-up or face-down, depending on the type of Poker. After the initial deal, the first betting round starts. Between rounds, the players' hands develop, often by dealing additional cards or replacing previously dealt cards. At the end of each round, all the bets are gathered in the central pot.

During the betting rounds, if one player bets and none of the opponents chooses to call, and instead "fold", the hand ends. The bettor is awarded the pot, no cards are required to be shown, and the next hand begins. This characteristic of the game of Poker is what makes bluffing possible.

At the end of the last betting round, if more than one player remains, a showdown takes place in which the players reveal their previously hidden cards and evaluate their hands. The player with the best hand wins the pot. UK Poker hands usually consist of a set of five cards, but in some variants of Poker, the player has more than five cards to choose from.
